UGI Utilities, Inc. will begin a natural gas main replacement on March 9 that will impact the the City of Wilkes-Barre in Luzerne County.
The natural gas main replacement project will take place at the intersection of Kidder Street and Scott Street. UGI will be replacing approximately 300 feet of natural gas main.
Construction hours will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. During construction hours, residents will experience lane closures, road closures, and traffic delays. Parking also will be restricted in the area during construction hours. Accommodations will be made for school buses and emergency vehicles.
No residents or businesses in the area should have their gas service affected. The project is expected to be completed by March 17.
