UGI Utilities is starting a system upgrades project in Monroe Township, Snyder County this week. The work is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service and is an opportunity for some homes and businesses along the project route to convert to natural gas.
The installation of the new natural gas main is expected to be completed by mid-May and impact the following streets:
- Runyan Road between North Susquehanna Trail and South Old Trail
- Monroe Street between North Susquehanna Trail and South Chestnut Street
- Lincoln Avenue between North Susquehanna Trail and South Old Trail
- North Old Trail between Lincoln Avenue and Mill Road
- Park Road between Pine Lane and North Susquehanna Trail
- Edbert Street between Brown Street and Park Road
- Harrison Street between Park Road and Oak Drive
- Oak Drive between Harrison Street and Pine Lane
- Wharf Drive between Ballfield Drive and Banyan Street
Most of the construction is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm. Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience traffic and parking restrictions during construction hours. Night work (8pm-6am) is scheduled at the intersection of Park Road and Susquehanna Trail from April 12 through April 17.
There will be some interruptions to natural gas service. This will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.
Weather and working conditions may have an impact on the completion date. After underground work is complete, final paving and restoration will occur later.
