UGI Utilities, Inc. will spend more than $270 million to replace 50 miles of pipeline this fiscal year. The work continues UGI’s commitment to delivering safe and reliable natural gas service.
Cast iron and bare steel gas mains will be replaced with contemporary materials including high-density plastic and protected steel. Other system upgrades include pressure reinforcements to improve system reliability, service line and meter replacements, and regulator station improvements.
UGI provides residents advanced notification of impacted streets, construction hours, and parking restrictions. As part of the construction projects, UGI will replace service lines to customer homes if needed. When replacing service lines, UGI personnel will need to have access to customer’s homes. Construction projects typically take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, unless otherwise noted. During some projects, connecting streets will also be impacted.
UGI’s infrastructure replacement and betterment projects also provide an opportunity for homes and businesses within the project areas to convert to natural gas. UGI encourages customers along project routes to contact the company at 800-276-2722 if they are interested in converting.
The attached document lists gas main replacement projects. Weather conditions and other roadwork can affect project start dates and completion dates. A list of scheduled infrastructure projects, along with their status, can be found at www.ugi.com/construction.
