UGI Utilities, Inc. is scheduled to begin gas main replacement projects on March 1 near the J.P. McCaskey High School Campus in Lancaster. The new gas mains are part of UGI’s commitment to continue to provide safe and reliable natural gas service. The work will impact the following areas:
· North Reservoir Street between Lehigh Ave and East Fulton Street
· 112 Aly between 114 Aly and East Madison Street
· 114 Aly between 112 Aly and North Broad Street
· East Madison Street between North Reservoir Street and McCaskey Avenue
· East Walnut St between North Reservoir Street and McCaskey Avenue
· North Broad Street between 114 Aly and East Walnut Street
· 116 Aly to 146 Aly
· McCaskey Avenue between 116 Aly and East Walnut Street
· 147 Aly between McCaskey Avenue and Ayres Court
Construction is scheduled for Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience road closures, detours, and traffic delays during construction hours. School bus routes may also be temporarily impacted. Parking will be restricted during these hours. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service. This will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of May. Weather and working conditions may impact completion date.
