UGI Encourages Customers to Consider Energy Efficiency Measures during Home Improvement Projects

Key Takeaways
  • UGI encourages homeowners to include energy-efficiency measures in their list of home improvement projects
  • UGI’s SaveSmart program provides rebates on a variety of energy-savings steps for both residential and business customers.
  • Energy efficiency improvements can save customers money on their utility bill, earn a rebate, and help reduce their carbon footprint.

As residents take on home improvement projects with the advent of warmer weather, UGI encourages homeowners to include energy-efficiency measures in their plans. UGI’s SaveSmart program provides rebates on a variety of energy-savings steps for both residential and business customers.

For example, installing an ENERGY STAR® certified smart thermostat can earn customers a rebate while saving them money on their energy bill and reducing their carbon footprint. If everyone in the United States installed an ENERGY STAR® certified smart thermostat, customer savings would be $740 million dollars per year and would offset 13 billion pounds of annual greenhouse gas emissions.

UGI customers who are income-qualified may be eligible for free energy efficiency and weatherization services. To learn more about enrollment in UGI’s Low Income Usage Reduction Program (LIURP), customers can call 800-UGI-WARM or visit www.ugi.com/liurp.

UGI offers rebates to both their natural gas and electric service customers in Pennsylvania. UGI serves 670,000 natural gas customers in 45 counties and 62,000 electric customers in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties.
