UGI Utilities, Inc. is scheduled to begin additional gas main replacement projects on April 5 in Lancaster. The work is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service and will impact the following streets:
- South Duke Street between Susquehanna Street and Schuylkill Street
- Susquehanna Street Between South Duke Street and Rockland Street
- Chesapeake Street between East Strawberry Street and Harrison Street
- Harrison Street between Chesapeake Street and Schuylkill Street
- Schuylkill Street between South Duke Street and South Franklin Street
- Stevens Avenue between Schuylkill Street and Delaware Street
- South Franklin Street between Chesapeake Street and Delaware Street
- Delaware Street between South Duke Street and South Franklin Street
Construction is scheduled for Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience road closures, detours, and traffic delays during construction hours. Parking will also be restricted on the impacted streets. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service. This will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of May. Weather and working conditions may impact the completion date.
