UGI Utilities, Inc. is scheduled to begin two gas main replacement projects in Easton on May 31 and June 3. The work is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service. It also is an opportunity for some residents and businesses within the project areas to convert to natural gas.
On May 31, work will impact Bushkill Drive to Bushkill Street. This project is scheduled to be completed by mid-July.
On June 3, a second gas main replacement will begin and is expected to be completed by early September. The following streets will be impacted:
- South 13th St between Pine Street and Butler Street
- Butler Street between South 15th Street and South 13th Street
- South Peach Street between Butler Street and Elm Street
Construction is scheduled for Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience road closures, detours, and traffic delays during construction hours. Parking will be restricted on the impacted streets during these hours. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service. This will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.
Weather and working conditions may impact completion dates.
