UGI Utilities is scheduled to begin system upgrades in Oxford Borough, Chester County on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. The work is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service and is an opportunity for some homes and businesses along the project route to convert to natural gas.
The installation of the new natural gas main is expected to be completed by the end of August and impact Scroggy Road/Pine Street between the Route 1 Overpass and East Mount Vernon Street. Traffic in the area will be kept to a single lane with a flagger during construction hours.
Construction is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service that will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment. Also, customers with natural gas meters that are inside, will likely have those meters moved to an outside location.
Weather and working conditions may have an impact on the completion date. After underground work is complete, final paving and restoration will occur later.
