UGI System Upgrade Project Set to Begin November 23rd in Hanover Township

Detours and Lane Closures Expected During Project

UGI Utilities is scheduled to begin a system upgrade project on Monday, November 23, 2026, in Hanover Township, Lehigh County. The natural gas main replacement is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service.

Construction is scheduled for overnight hours, between 7:00 PM and 5:00 AM, Monday night through Saturday morning. Drivers should expect detours and lane closures during working hours and use caution while driving through the work zone.

The project will impact the following streets:

  • Southbound Route 987/Airport Road from East Race Street to Days Hotel by Wyndham

  • East Race Street between Route 987/Airport Road and Old Airport Road

Weather and working conditions may have an impact on the late January completion date. After underground work is complete, final paving and restoration will occur later.
