UGI Utilities is scheduled to begin a system upgrade project on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, that will impact Womelsdorf Borough. The natural gas main replacement is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service and is an opportunity for residents and businesses along the project route to convert to natural gas.
Work is expected to be completed by the end of November and impact the following streets:
West High Street between Front Street and North 5th Street
East High Street between Front Street and Pine Street
Construction is scheduled Monday through Friday. Work will begin on West High Street between Front Street and move towards North 5th Street. Crews will then work on East High Street between Front Street and Pine Street. Drivers should expect traffic and parking restrictions. Sidewalks will be accessible throughout the project. While most work is scheduled to take place between 7am and 5pm, some of it will start later in the day to accommodate school arrivals.
There will be some interruptions to natural gas service that will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.
Weather and working conditions may have an impact on the completion date. After underground work is complete, final paving and restoration will occur later.
