UGI System Upgrades in Whitehall Township Rescheduled for April 15

UGI Utilities, Inc. is scheduled to begin a gas main replacement project on April 15 along several roads in Whitehall Township, Lehigh County. The new gas mains are part of UGI’s commitment to continue to provide safe and reliable natural gas service. The work will impact the following areas:

  • 5th Street between Grape Street and Summit Street
  • Summit Street between 5th Street and 3rd Street
  • Spruce Street between Summit Street and the Spruce Street split
  • The intersection of Summit Street and 4th Street

Construction is scheduled for Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience road closures, detours, and traffic delays during construction hours. Parking will be restricted during these hours. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service. This will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of June. Weather and working conditions may impact completion date.
