UGI Utilities began a system upgrade project in Ashland on Monday, August 3, 2026. The natural gas main replacement is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service and is an opportunity for some residents and businesses to convert to natural gas. Work is expected to be completed by mid-August and impact the following streets:
Middle Street between South Fourth Street and South Hoffman Boulevard
South Hoffman Boulevard between Centre Street and Middle Street
Construction is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm. Drivers should expect lane and parking restrictions. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service that will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment. Also, customers with natural gas meters that are inside, will likely have those meters moved to an outside location.
Weather and working conditions may have an impact on the completion date. After underground work is complete, final paving and restoration will occur later.
