UGI Utilities began system upgrades this week in Catasauqua. The natural gas main replacement is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service and is an opportunity for some residents and businesses to convert to natural gas.
Work is expected to be completed by mid-September and impact the 900 Block of West Race Street (State Route 1004) between South 15th and Willow Brook Road.
Construction is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm. Drivers should expect lane and parking restrictions.
Weather and working conditions may have an impact on the completion date. After underground work is complete, final paving and restoration will occur later.
