UGI System Upgrades Scheduled to Begin April 8 in Swatara Township

UGI Utilities, Inc. is scheduled to begin a gas main replacement project on April 8 in Swatara Township, Dauphin County. The work is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service.

The new gas main will go under Route 322, in the area of Webner Road, but is not expected to have a major impact on traffic on 322. Brief single lane restrictions are expected during a small portion of the project.

Construction is scheduled for Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience road closures, detours, and traffic delays on the following streets:

  •  Chambers Hill Road between South 80th Street and West Drive
  • Webner Road between Chambers Hill Road and Route 322
  • 8000 Block of Grayson Road near H&F Tire Service

Parking will also be restricted on these streets. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service. This will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of May. Weather and working conditions may impact the completion date.
