UGI Utilities is scheduled to begin system upgrades in Stroudsburg, Monroe County on Monday, July 27, 2026. The natural gas main replacement is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service and is expected to be completed by mid-August. The work will impact the following streets:
South 9th Street between Mill Alley and Ann Street
Mill Alley between South 9th Street and Williams Street
Construction is scheduled Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm. In addition to lane restrictions and possible road closures, drivers can also expect parking restrictions. Visitors to State Representative Tarah Probst’s office at 18 South 9th St. may experience brief traffic delays or temporary changes to nearby parking during active work hours.
There will be some interruptions to natural gas service that will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment. Also, customers with natural gas meters that are inside, will likely have those meters moved to an outside location.
Weather and working conditions may have an impact on the completion date. After underground work is complete, final paving and restoration will occur later.
