UGI Utilities is scheduled to begin a system upgrade project on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in Muhlenberg Township, Berks County. The natural gas main replacement is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service. Work is expected to be completed by mid-November and impact the following streets:
East Bellevue Avenue from Route 61 to Bellevue Industrial Park
Intersection of West Bellevue Avenue and Taft Avenue
Construction is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7am until 5pm. Drivers should expect lane restrictions. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service that will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.
Weather and working conditions may have an impact on the completion date. After underground work is complete, final paving and restoration will occur later.
