UGI Utilities, Inc. is scheduled to begin gas main replacement projects on March 1 along several streets in Allentown. The work is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service and will impact the following streets:
· Wyoming Street between South 12th Street and Lehigh Street
· South 12th Street between Colorado Street and West Cumberland Street
· South 11th Street between Wyoming Street and West Cumberland Street
· South Howard Street between Wyoming Street and Hoe Street
· Hoe Street between South Howard Street and Wyoming Street
Construction is scheduled for Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience road closures, detours, and traffic delays during construction hours. Parking will be restricted on the impacted streets during these hours. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service. This will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by late June. Weather and working conditions may impact completion date.
