UGI to Continue System Upgrades with Work Planned for Bethlehem Starting March 1

UGI Utilities, Inc. is scheduled to begin gas main replacement projects on March 1 in Bethlehem. The work is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service and will impact the following streets:

 Expected Construction Completion: Mid-June

·      Spring Street from Franklin Street to Rauch Street

·      Franklin Street from Prospect Avenue to Spring Street

·      Arch Street from Prospect Avenue to Spring Street

·      Hanover Street from Prospect Avenue to Spring Street

 Expected Construction Completion: Mid-July

·      East 5th Street from Buchanan Street to State Street

·      Buchanan Street from Laufer Street to East 4th Street

Construction is scheduled for Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience road closures, detours, and traffic delays during construction hours. Parking will also be restricted on the impacted streets during these hours. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service. This will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.
