UGI Utilities, Inc. is scheduled to begin two more gas main replacement projects on April 1 in Allentown. The work is part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service.
Work on the following streets is expected to be completed in late May:
- South Ott Street between Honochick Drive and Walnut Street
- Walnut Street between South Ott Street and South 26th Street
- South 26th Street between Walnut Street and Reading Drive
- Hamilton Boulevard between South Ott Street and College Drive
- Park Boulevard between Crest Avenue and Hamilton Boulevard
- Crest Avenue between College Drive and Park Boulevard
Work on the following streets is expected to be completed in late July:
- North 7th Street between Sumner Avenue and Washington Street
- Greenleaf Street between North 8th Street and North 7th Street
Construction is scheduled for Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7am and 5pm. Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience road closures, detours, and traffic delays during construction hours. Parking will also be restricted on the impacted streets during these hours. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service. This will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment.
Weather and working conditions may impact the completion dates.
