UGI to Mark Cast Iron Pipeline Replacement Milestone With “Investing in Our Future” Event

UGI Utilities is hosting “Investing in Our Future,” an event to announce the retirement of the last of the 400 miles of cast iron mains in its natural gas distribution system. On Thursday, October 15, 2026, UGI employees, contractors, regulators, lawmakers and others will come together to mark the milestone. Media is also invited to attend this event.

Speakers currently include Senator Lisa Boscola, Pennsylvania Utility Chairman Stephen DeFrank, and UGI employees. “Investing in Our Future” will highlight UGI’s $1.5 billion infrastructure replacement commitment, the benefit to UGI customers and the community, while also looking towards the next phase of system upgrades. Attendees will be able to see the final two cast iron mains retired, along with demonstrations of UGI’s safety vehicles.
