UGI Utilities is scheduled to begin natural gas main replacement upgrades in Pittston on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, as part of the company's ongoing commitment to delivering safe and reliable service. This project also presents an opportunity for eligible residents and businesses in the area to convert to natural gas service.
Work is anticipated to be completed by late November and will affect the following streets:
Kennedy Boulevard between Water Street and Dock Street
Dock Street between Kennedy Boulevard and Wharf Street
Drummond Street between Lambert Street and Ward Alley
Haston Street between Drummond Street and Parsonage Street
Reynolds Street between Parsonage Street and Griffith Street
Parsonage Street between Reynolds Street and Center Street
Center Street between Parsonage Street and Griffith Street
Construction is scheduled Monday through Friday, between 7:00am and 5:00pm. Drivers should anticipate lane and parking restrictions in the affected areas. Construction is expected to cause short traffic delays near the Martin Mattei Middle School. UGI natural gas customers along the route will experience brief service interruptions and will require UGI crews to have access to properties to inspect and relight gas equipment.
Weather and working conditions may affect the completion date. Final paving and restoration will occur once underground work has been completed.
